LOS ANGELES, Ca. – Less than twenty-four hours after Beyoncé’s earth-shattering announcement that she and Jay Z are expecting twins, a source close to Queen Bey has revealed that the superstar couple plans to launch an online contest in which fans can submit and vote on potential baby names, the entertainment news website TMZ reported on Thursday.
“The Carters have always felt a strong connection to their fans and this is a way for them to truly give something back,” the source told TMZ. The contest, which is scheduled to go live in the coming days via beyoncesbabynames.com, will begin with a three-week submission period followed by several days of voting. “The entire process is expected to last until the end of Beyoncé’s second trimester,” the source said.
Once the votes have been tallied, Beyoncé and Jay Z will take to Instagram and Twitter to share their expected newborns’ names with the world. But it wont end there. A close friend of the Carter family, who spoke to Real News Right Now on condition of anonymity, has confirmed that the person responsible for submitting the winning names will receive a personal letter of gratitude from Beyoncé along with an invitation to be present for the twins’ delivery.
“This is likely to be the most talked about birth since Jesus Christ in 4 B.C.,” said E! Online’s Milo Sutherland. “Just imagine if the Virgin Mary had given birth to twins – that’s the sheer scope of what we’re looking at here.” Indeed, the announcement and accompanying photo, which Beyoncé posted to Instagram on Wednesday, received 6.33 million likes in just eight hours. “This is an event that will go down in history,” predicted Sutherland. “Fifty years from now, people are going to remember exactly where they were when Beyoncé gave birth to those twins.”
While an expected due date has yet to be announced, the online women’s magazine Bustle.com predicts the two latest – and potentially cutest – additions to the Carter household will enter the world somewhere between July 19th and August 2nd.
