Kourtney Kardashian To Run For Mayor of Calabasas in 2016

CALABASAS, Ca. – While attending an after party for the Marquee Dayclub Season Event in Las Vegas this week, Kourtney Kardashian announced she will run for the office of mayor in Calabasas in 2016 in hopes of ousting current mayor Aubrey James.

In her first public comments since the party, Kardashian told Us Weekly she had been out to dinner with her mom when she overheard James at a nearby table. “We were eating at The Canyon Bistro and he was at a table behind us with his wife I guess, and I heard his voice and I just thought, ‘You are so annoying. I could literally slap the sh*t out of you and feel so much better.'”

It was then, Ms. Kardashian says, that she decided to run for office to fix the city’s “frumpy image Mayor James has created.” She added, “I feel that if I’m going through something, I’m sure someone else is, too. I try to be as honest with myself and others as I can be and I think a mayor should do the same.”

According to family and friends, Ms. Kardashian’s first duty as mayor will be to improve the city’s economic conditions. Kim Kardashian, Kourtney’s younger sister, told TMZ that “Kourtney feels very passionate about the state of The Commons,” referring to The Commons at Calabasas, an upscale retail and entertainment complex in the city. “Right now its like something you’d see in San Francisco. It’s appalling.”

If elected, Kourtney Kardashian has pledged $1 million of her own money to assist in improving and expanding The Commons at Calabasas. Included in the expansion is a plan to remove the existing fountains and replace them with fountains similar to those at Bellagio Las Vegas. Ms. Kardashian said, “I’m proof that, even after having a baby, you can look better and sexier than ever! And as mayor, I’ll make Calabasas sexier than ever!”

  1. You need to get your facts correct–your story straight and an apology for the lies and then printing them. I have never been to this restaurant –so no idea regarding this alleged issue.
And elections for City Council will occur this year in 2015—there are no elections in 2016. It is always nice to see a resident of the City become active in helping to make our City better. That will start with a public apology to me.

  2. Mayor Shapiro was never at that restaurant with his wife. He has never even been to that place. I can attest to this because I am his wife and we have been out of town for weeks visiting our children in college. Mayor Shapiro is so well respected by everyone! I am asking that this lie be retracted before legal action is pursued.

  3. Who is Aubrey James? The current mayor of Calabasas is Lucy Martin. You cannot “run for mayor in 2016” in Calabasas. The city council members are elected at large and they elect the mayor and a mayor pro tem who will serve the following year. The mayor presides at ceremonial functions and over the council meetings but most of the real power and decision making is with the city council.
Why would those of us who live in Calabasas elect any Kardashian to anything? Their clothing store here went out of business and as far as I know they have done nothing to help the community.
